Feb 25, 2016

Linda is a young French artist who posses a great talent creating unique visual stories. Her rapturous and frenetic images are part of a play where the artist becomes spectator and character at the same time, and where the limits between fantasy and reality are blurred.

Following we want to show the nice interview we had with her:

am - First of all thank you for your contribution to our project. Please tell us where are you from and what do you do at the moment?

LT - Born, raised and based in Paris. Right now I’m working on a series called « Et baiser les pieds des idoles ». It’s about my idols in general, from people around me to characters in movies I like.

am - What inspires your work?

LT - Many things. Music, films, my personal story and the one I share with my loved ones. Sometimes it’s about moments « in real life », sometimes it’s a bit fictional. But after all, what is real? That’s what I like, you can’t always tell. Maybe this life is kind of a daydream.

am - Who are your favourite photographers / artists?

LT - I’m a huge fan of Nan Goldin, and Sarah Moon too. More recently, the work of young photographers like Petra Collins. The paintings of Francis Bacon. David Lynch and Sofia Coppola.

am - How would you describe your photographs in 3 words?

LT - Oh, that’s a tough question! I put so many things in it, I don’t know if I’m capable to reduced it to three words!

am - What are 5 things your could absolutely not live without?

LT - A camera, a book. My notebook. Perfume and whisky.

am - If you could travel and stay in a place for one year, where would you choose to go?

LT - Japan. That’s my ultimate fantasy.

am - What kind of camera do you shoot with?

LT - Most of the time, I’ve got a Canon AF35M in my bag. I don’t like to think too much before I click, because I already think too much most of the time. When I do something more elaborate, I use my Canon AE-1 and I work in digital too sometimes. But it’s more for my videos. But I really like trying new tools or new techniques.

am - Favourite songs / bands at the moment?

LT - Abra, Kali Uchis, the latest album of Grimes. And I always have the discography of Nine Inch Nails in my iPod.

am - What’s your favourite movie?

LT - « Lost Highway », from David Lynch.

am - Thank you very much for your time!
