Marit is a young artist from Berlin, Germany whose work is inspired by woods, mossy green landscapes, old tales, Gothic novels and dark romantic poets like Gustave Flaubert or Charles Baudelaire.

Marit studied archaeology and the concept of memories –funeral cults, pictures of dead people in the victorian age, etc.– is her obsession: “I summon ghosts in my pictures and I think I am a necromancer and tale-teller.”

Regarding her preference towards Black and White images, Marit comments: “I love film grain in black and white, it is foggy and I love the fog in autumn. The feeling of black and white is familiar.”
